Axis Deer
Originally from India, the axis deer (chital) was introduced to Texas in the 1930s. Texas now holds the largest free-ranging axis population outside Asia. At Five Aces, they're our most requested species: a great trophy, excellent meat, and a real challenge.

Non-Hunting Guests
Bring the family. Non-hunting guest rate is $250 per day, which covers lodging, meals, and ranch access (1 observer is free with a Trophy Hunt).

Deposits
A 25% deposit (capped at $1,000 per hunter), non-refundable but reschedulable with 14 days' notice, confirms your booking and secures the date. The remaining balance is due on-site after your hunt (payment plans are welcome).

Before You Book
Texas License Required
A Texas hunting license is required for everyone, including out-of-state hunters and even when hunting with a guide. Native species like whitetail also require tags. Exotic species do NOT require tags. Hunters must get their own license before arrival.
Our Hunt Guarantee
We cannot guarantee a kill — it is real hunting. What we DO guarantee: a shot opportunity on your target animal, or an equal-or-better quality trophy. Our guides work hard to put you on game.
We never guarantee a specific animal months in advance — herds roam freely and inventory changes. We can share recent harvest photos so you can see trophy quality.
Rescheduling & Fees
Since it is real hunting we cannot promise a harvest, so the hunt fee itself is not refunded. BUT if it does not work out we reschedule you and you only pay for meals and lodging, and the hunt fee carries over to your rescheduled hunt. We make it right.

Do you need a hunting license to hunt exotics in Texas?
Yes. A valid Texas hunting license is required regardless of species. Exotics on private land have no closed season, but a license is still mandatory. Purchase via TPWD before your arrival date.
What is the most affordable exotic animal to hunt in Texas?
Exotic rams are the most accessible entry point, starting at $750 for a Black Hawaiian or Corsican ram based on horn size. Full trophy packages with lodging start from $1,750.
What exotic animals can you hunt year-round in Texas?
All of our exotics are available year-round: axis deer, blackbuck, oryx, addax, gemsbok, rams, and more. Private Texas land has no closed season on exotic species. Whitetail and turkey follow state seasons.
How much does a guided exotic hunt in Texas cost?
Prices range from $750 for an exotic ram to $10,500+ for a Transcaspian Urial. Most hunters book in the $1,750-$7,500 range. Every trophy package is all-inclusive: lodging, meals, guide, and field care covered.
